Photographer David Bailey opened up about his work in an interview with The Telegraph on Monday (March 14), and revealed his tips for getting his famous subjects to relax on camera.

During the interview, he spoke about photographing the Queen in 2014, and getting her to smile by asking if “the jewels” were real.
He recalled, “I said: ‘I bet that cost a few bob, girl’.”
When asked if he really called the Queen “girl,” he said: “It just came out. I call everyone ‘girl.’ But she was girlish. Made a real effort. We had a laugh. Beautiful skin, the Queen.”
