Phillip Schofield revealed he travelled all the way to Cornwall to tell his mother, Pat, that he was gay.
And his terror at telling her was completely unfounded, because her reaction was incredibly blase.
He told his This Morning co host Holly Willoughby: "My mum has been on the phone all morning.
"I went down to see her in Cornwall.
"She said: 'Oh ok, well I don’t care.'"
He laughed as he recalled her simple, loving response to something he had struggled to come to terms with for decades.
