Peter Kay has been delighting fans after kick starting his first tour in 12 years.
The comedian is currently on the road as he performs a string of much-anticipated gigs after a lengthy hiatus from the live stage.
Car Share creator Peter started out at Manchester’s AO Arena in December and was so overwhelmed with the response of his fans that he became visibly emotional.
He told the audience: “Aw you’ll have me in bits. Lovely Manchester you made me cry. I can’t believe I cried, where did it come from all that emotion?"
But this week, it seems the star’s loyal band of followers are slightly divided after the Phoenix Nights star’s response to one audience member who had brought one of the performances in Liverpool to a stop, as writes Chronicle Live.
Peter was in Liverpool at the M&S Bank Arena when someone in the crowd was allegedly booted out for heckling.
But others watching were not so impressed when the comic started making jokes about the incident on stage - and called the heckler an “a******” as they were removed from their ground floor seat in front of the stage.
In videos which were taken by fellow audience members and seen by the Liverpool Echo, Peter can be seen joking from the stage: “Oh, it's all kicking off here. Where's my phone?"
He added: “He's a bit of an a******e, he's a bit annoying.
"I like a laugh, I'm a comedian, but I can tell all them people round there are getting a bit nowty now,
"He likes the limelight - I know I do, but I'm on stage."
Some fans praised Peter for his reaction, with one person writing on Twitter: "Absolutely top entertainment at the M&S Bank Arena last night. Expert way of dealing with a k***head heckler as well, think 13,000 people were glad to see him escorted out."
