Beyond Paradise star Kris Marshall has opened up about his feelings when ITV's Sanditon was cancelled and then brought back to life. Sanditon, a romantic drama based on an unfinished Jane Austen novel, managed to return for a second series in July 2022 despite initially struggling to attract viewers and being axed after just one series.
EXCLUSIVE: Famke Janssen (X-Men franchise) and Rose Williams (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris) will topline Locked In, a contemporary psychological thriller from Netflix, which is currently in production in London and the UK. Others in the cast include Alex Hassell (Violent Night), Finn Cole (Animal Kingdom) and Anna Friel (Monarch).
The Crown actress takes on the role of widowed cleaning woman Ada, a hard-working housekeeper who decides she wants to spend her life savings on a Dior dress, after seeing one being worn by a wealthy client. She scrimps and saves (and gambles at the dog track) to raise enough money and finally arrives at Dior’s Avenue Montaigne headquarters, where she charms everyone. The fairy tale is complete when she moves to Paris and starts making some changes — for the better — at the fashion house.

Jane Austen’s unfinished novel of the same name, saw Charlotte’s first love Sidney (Theo James) abandon her reluctantly in favour of an engagement with a former flame who had the means to save his family from ruin. After the show was initially axed by ITV after its first season, a passionate fan campaign brought it back, courtesy of co-producer PBS Masterpiece and ITV-owned streaming service BritBox – but Divergent actor Theo opted to leave the show. The opening of season two then killed off Sidney in rather mysterious circumstances, leaving Charlotte grieving – but handily open to new relationship prospects.
Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris grossed $1.35 million in week two with a mix of arthouse and commercial theaters among top ten locations and a nice hold from opening weekend (-31%). Cume to date is $4.65 million for the film starring Leslie Manville as a British housekeeper who dreams of owning a Christian Dior gown. It was no. 10 in North America in 1,001 theaters.

Inspired by Jane Austen’s unfinished novel, the historical drama tells the story of Charlotte Heywood, a high-spirited young woman who happens upon the seaside town of Sanditon during a time of social change, and becomes intrigued by the town’s inhabitants and their secrets.The first season of the fan-favorite British series ended on a giant cliffhanger in early 2020, and having been canceled in the UK by ITV, it wasn’t clear if anything would ever be resolved.
Adalia Rose Williams was a YouTube star whose videos got millions of views as they spotlighted her life with the premature aging disease Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome.Williams was diagnosed with progeria as a baby, as is typical for the disease that causes rapid aging and leads to early death in the teens or 20s. She began sharing videos on YouTube in 2012, singing “Jesus Loves Me” in her first video.
UK period drama Sanditon is rounding out cast for the upcoming second season following the exit of Theo James, who portrayed Sidney, earlier this year.
The feature take of Paul Gallico’s novella Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris is set for a theatrical release March 4, 2022 via Focus Features in the U.S. and Canada, the distributor said Tuesday.
