Rina Sawayama has shared ‘Phantom’, another cut from her forthcoming album ‘Hold The Girl’ which is released next month.‘Phantom’ is a pop ballad about Sawayama reassessing her needs versus other people’s. It follows on from last month’s ‘Hold The Girl‘ as well as ‘This Hell’ and ‘Catch Me In The Air’ which were shared earlier this year.Speaking about her new song, Sawayama said: “I realised as an adult that I have spent my whole life pleasing other people and not realising it – constantly pushing my boundaries and not realising the difference between what I wanted to do and what other people wanted from me.

The 1975, Wet Leg and Yungblud are among the acts set to perform for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month this September.The station’s annual series of special sessions returns on September 5 with a set from Yungblud, who is due to release his self-titled third studio album three days prior (September 2).Further performances will follow from Self Esteem (September 6), RAYE (7) and Wet Leg (8) ahead of an as-yet-unannounced “very special guest” on September 12. Another mystery session is scheduled for September 15.Elsewhere, fans will be able to catch an unseen track from Harry Styles’ Live Lounge show that was filmed earlier this year.The 1975, who are gearing up to drop their fifth record ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ on October 14, are lined up to close Live Lounge Month 2022 on September 29.Other names on the bill include Willow, Nova Twins, Knucks, Beabadoobee, Rina Sawayama and Tom Grennan.

A fascinatingly eclectic addition to the world of 2020s pop, Rina Sawayama’s second album has already spawned two fantastic singles in Catch Me in the Air and This Hell. Advance reports suggest Hold the Girl offers a stew of glam, alt-rock, electronics and influences ranging from Paramore to the Corrs.

Charli XCX and Tiësto have shared the video for their song "Hot In It." The Hannah Lux Davis-directed video finds Charli selling beds at a wholesale store, though her sales ability plays second fiddle to dance routines as a bewildered-looking couple searching for a new bed can attest. Rina Sawayama has shared the music video for her latest single ‘Hold The Girl’.The Ali Kurr-directed visuals show the pop star stuck in a time loop within the bounds of a 19th century farmhouse until she finally breaks free.Press material describes the video as a “metaphor for Rina’s emotional breakthrough in therapy, which sparked her to write the song” for her second album of the same name, which is released on September 16 (pre-order here).Speaking about the new single, Sawayama said: “’Hold the Girl’ was the first song I wrote for the record at the end of 2020 – I had gone to therapy and had a revelation, so I decided to write this song…that was the start of it. I was crying before going into the studio to write about it.”The song follows recent singles ‘Catch Me In The Air’ and ‘This Hell’.

Rina Sawayama has shared the third single and title track from her highly-anticipated second album ‘Hold The Girl’.The artist has already previewed the new album – the follow-up to 2020’s ‘SAWAYAMA’, which NME awarded five stars – with the singles ‘This Hell’ and ‘Catch Me In The Air’, with the latter premiering as Zane Lowe’s New Music Daily pick on Apple Music 1.The new single is a typically ambitious, multi-faceted pop song, addressing both the trauma and catharsis of moving forward in life. “Sometimes I just wanna run away, leave behind that old me, start again/ Then I’ll remember who I’m really made of/ And she’s been hide-and-seeking, waiting all alone,” she sings on the track.Speaking about the songwriting process, Sawayama said: “‘Hold the Girl’ was the first song I wrote for the record at the end of 2020 – I had gone to therapy and had a revelation, so I decided to write this song… that was the start of it.

Rina Sawayama has announced a US headline tour for 2022 – tickets will be available from here.The singer-songwriter will head stateside this November in support of her second album ‘Hold The Girl’, which is due to arrive on September 2 via Dirty Hit.Kicking off in Brooklyn, New York on November 1, the stint will also include stop-offs in cities such as Boston (November 4), Atlanta (8), Nashville (9), Houston (13) and San Diego (18).Sawayama, who was crowned Best Live Act at the BandLab NME Awards 2022, is scheduled to conclude her 2022 US tour with a performance at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California on November 23.“Can’t wait to perform the record for u,” she wrote while announcing the shows on social media yesterday (July 26). “Which songs from the first record do u wanna hear ??”.Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time this Friday (July 29) – you’ll be able to purchase yours from here.

Keanu Reeves surprised the crowd at San Diego Comic-Con with a fresh look at the beloved action hero, who is back in action yet again.After appearing at a Comic-Con panel for his Boom! Studios title “BRZRKR, “Reeves crashed Collider’s Directors on Directing panel in Hall H on Friday night, where “John Wick 4” director Chad Stahelski was a panelist, to debut the footage.The trailer finds Wick doing what he does best: enacting revenge via any weapon he can get his hands on. As CinemaCon footage confirmed back in April, the newest installment to the film is sure to include as much skull bashing and gun-fu as its previous chapters.

Lionsgate on Thursday revealed the first public look at John Wick: Chapter 4, the latest in hitman franchise that stars Keanu Reeves. Earlier this year, the studio revealed that the pic will hit theaters on March 24, 2023, and showed off a still-unreleased trailer in April at CinemaCon.

Rina Sawayama has shared ‘Catch Me In The Air’, the second single to be lifted from her forthcoming second album ‘Hold The Girl’.The singer’s latest, written with Oscar Scheller, Gracey, Clarence Clarity and Stuart Price, is a soaring pop cut written as a tribute to her mother, who raised her as a single parent. “I really wanted to write about this weird relationship with single parents,” she explained in a press release.

Rina Sawayama has discussed how she was inspired by the “fake stories” on Taylor Swift‘s ‘Folklore’ for her new album ‘Hold The Girl’.The singer’s follow-up to 2020 debut album ‘SAWAYAMA’ is due out on September 2, via Dirty Hit, and was previewed last month with the single ‘This Hell’.In a new interview with Rolling Stone UK about the album, Sawayama spoke of being struck by the way Swift told stories of other people on her 2020 lockdown album, moving away from the autobiographical work of her past.“I remember when Taylor Swift released Folklore, I was like, ‘This bitch is writing about fake stories and she just wrote a whole album. If she can do it, I need to do it,’” Sawayama said, revealing that it was too painful to write songs about her own experiences while going through therapy.Discussing how she wants to keep her personal issues out of her songs for the time being, the singer added: “For me, it’s important that the listener is able to listen to it as a pop record first without that background, [and] make their own feelings about it.

Elton John, 75, appeared frail as he was pictured in a wheelchair ahead of his planned Jubilee performance.  The singer was clad in one of his trademark Gucci tracksuits and wore a face mask when arrived at Leipzig Airport in a wheelchair on Friday, before heading home to Nice after his show.  Elton is due to star alongside Queen and Diana Ross for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee concert on Saturday in a pre-recorded performance.

Sir Elton John has been pictured days before he’ll join a star-studded line-up of musicians performing at the Queen’s special Jubilee concert.  The Candle In The Wind singer arrived at Leipzig Airport this week to fly back to his home in Nice on the Cote d’Azur.  During his visit to Germany, Sir Elton had performed two shows, in Frankfurt and Leipzig, on his long-running Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

This Bank Holiday weekend, the biggest names in pop will descend upon London's Brockwell Park for Mighty Hoopla festival. Across Friday 3 and Saturday 4 June, everyone from Steps and Sugababes to Self Esteem and actual Samantha Fox will perform to 25,000 folk at the capital's most inclusive festival.
