Determined to keep the Democratic congressional majority in the November midterms, a group of “Hollywood-esque type people who care about politics” is throwing its support behind the U.S. Senate campaign of Congressman Tim Ryan of Ohio.Ryan, who is running against Donald Trump acolyte JD Vance for an open U.S.

UTA announced new roles for two senior leadership members, promoting Jay Sures to vice chairman while naming David Kramer as president. The pair had served together as co-presidents of the company since 2017.In addition to his roles in building UTA’s television group, Sures oversees UTA’s news, speakers, and culture and leadership practices, while also representing a wide roster of talent. He was inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2016.The company did not specify what new responsibilities Kramer would assume as solo president.

Brett Hansen, who has spent 22 years at UTA, is moving to Paradigm Talent Agency.

Intermittent rain made it a bit of a wet affair — and the evening humidity was not kind to attendees wearing suit jackets. But the rooftop afforded magnificent views (and the occasional lightning in the sky) for guests as they enjoyed lobster sliders, spicy tuna on crispy rice and churros with dipping sauce. Rich Paul has been appointed to the UTA board of directors. Paul, an agency partner, has been the head of the agency's sports division since July 2019, when UTA invested in Paul's Klutch Sports Group, which was founded in 2012 when LeBron James left CAA to join with Paul.
