< 1 min read Many American news sources are reporting that Pete Buttigieg will suspend his Presidential campaign tonight after his inability to gain traction with black voters, as exemplified by his poor showing in Saturday’s South Carolina primary, called into question the long-term viability of his campaign.

Pete Buttigieg has dropped out of the Democratic presidential race, the New York Times reported on Sunday.

Former South Bend, Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg is ending his campaign for the Democratic nomination for president. The 38-year old made history as the first openly-gay major presidential candidate. He won the Iowa Caucuses but was unable to build a broad coalition.

As the headlines on your news feed likely indicate, there were plenty of fireworks on display in many of the candidates' interactions, as Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, Pete Buttigieg, and Michael Bloomberg all had their moments at the mic.
