EXCLUSIVE: Vertical Entertainment has snapped up North American and UK rights to the horror film Blood, from award-wining director Brad Anderson (The Machinist, The Call). While the feature will be released to both theaters and digital platforms, a release date has not yet been disclosed.

It pushed The Sandman (53.8M) to #2 in its fourth week after a three-week reign at #1.

Angelique Jackson Sundance 2022’s top prize winner, filmmaker Nikyatu Jusu’s “Nanny,” has been acquired by Blumhouse and Prime Video.The companies jointly secured worldwide rights for the horror-drama, which premiered to rave reviews at Sundance in January, before ultimately winning the Sundance Grand Jury Prize, making history as the first horror film to take the festival’s top honor. Jusu is also only the second Black woman director to win the award.Written and directed by Jusu, in her feature directorial debut, “Nanny” follows a Senegalese woman named Aisha (Anna Diop) who recently immigrated to America.

Elhaj plays a character named Neville, a tame and relaxed fisherman who lives in the Bahamas, whose life is completely turned around when his house is sold and destroyed. He then goes on a journey of retribution.The heavyweight cast also includes Michelle Monaghan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Meredith Hagner and Rob Delaney.
