Sundance Winner ‘Nanny’ Acquired by Blumhouse and Prime Video

EXCLUSIVE: Steven Dorff (Old Henry), John McEnroe (Ocean’s Eight), Gina Gershon (Emily the Criminal) and Luka Sabbat (Grown-is) have signed on to star alongside Vito Schnabel in the dark comedy The Trainer, which Tony Kaye (American History X) is directing from a script by Schnabel and Jeff Solomon.

EXCLUSIVE: The Jono McLeod directed documentary My Old School, which made its world premiere at this year’s virtual Sundance Film Festival, has landed with Magnolia Pictures. The specialty cinema label has taken North American rights to the docu which features Alan Cumming. A July 22 theatrical release has been set.

Yellowjackets‘ Ella Purnell is set to headline Fallout, Prime Video’s series adaptation of the bestselling game franchise. The series comes from Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s Kilter Films, with Nolan set to direct the premiere. Purnell joins previously cast lead Walton Goggins.

Film at Lincoln Center and The Museum of Modern Art has set Audrey Diwan’s Happening and The African Desperate by Martine Syms will bookend the 51st edition of their collaboration, New Directors/New Films running April 20–May 1 in NYC.

Grammy-winning artist Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost live concert event will be streamed for free on Prime Video on March 31. Amazon Music and Prime Video announced today that the concert, which takes place in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, March 31 at 7:50 PM PDT, will be available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The concert, which also features openers Kali Uchis, Vince Staples, and Teezo Touchdown, will be available to view on-demand on Prime Video following the livestream event.
