"Saturday Night Live" is officially coming back for another season, however the show will look a little different than it did last season. It was announced Monday, "SNL" will return for season 48 on October 1 with new episodes following the following two Saturdays, on October 8 and October 15.There is still no news on who will host these episodes or who the musical guests will be.

Lorne Michaels previously hinted that the next season of the long-running NBC sketch show would be “a year of change.” Season 47 is currently nominated for another 9 Emmy nominations, bringing its total to 315 since it premiered in 1975 — breaking its own record for most Emmy-nominated series in history.“SNL” scored a nomination for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series. McKinnon also picked up a nomination, along with her former castmate Bowen Yang, for Supporting Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series.

Pete Davidson’s comedy series Bupkis, according to reports.The Peacock series is loosely based on the actor and comedian’s life, featuring Davidson as a fictionalised version of himself.According to Variety, Pesci has signed up to play Davidson’s grandfather in the series, joining Edie Falco (The Sopranos) who will play the comedian’s mother.This is only Pesci’s second regular television role in his career, after starring in NBC series Half Nelson in 1985. He’s best known for his collaborations with Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro in his film career, including Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Casino and The Irishman.Pesci is also known for roles in the Lethal Weapon franchise, Home Alone and My Cousin Vinny.Bupkis is set to be produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, with Dave Sirus and Judah Miller on co-writing duties.The show is described as a “raw” and “unflincing” version of Davidson’s real life, which will include a “mixture of grounded storytelling with absurd elements”.

Joe Pesci is taking on a new role!

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Joe Pesci has signed on to star in Pete Davidson’s upcoming Peacock comedy series “Bupkis,” Variety has learned. Davidson will star in the series along with Pesci and previously announced cast member Edie Falco. The show was ordered to series at Peacock in April. “Bupkis” is a half-hour comedy that is loosely based on Davidson’s real life. Falco will star as Davidson’s mother with Pesci now set to play Davidson’s grandfather. This marks just the second regular television role of Pesci’s career. Prior to this, he starred in the short-lived NBC series “Half Nelson” in 1985. Pesci is best known for his film career, in particular his collaborations with Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro. The trio have worked together on seminal films like “Raging Bull,” “Goodfellas,” “Casino,” and “The Irishman.” Pesci won the Academy Award for best supporting actor for his work in “Goodfellas” and was nominated in the same category for both “Raging Bull” and “The Irishman.” Pesci is also known for his roles in films like “My Cousin Vinny,” the “Lethal Weapon” franchise, the first two “Home Alone” films, and “JFK.”

Jimmy Fallon, Lorne Michaels and Tracy Morgan are being named in a sexual misconduct lawsuit filed against Horatio Sanz, with the plaintiff claiming that they enabled the Saturday Night Live star’s behavior.

The woman suing Horatio Sanz for alleged sexual assault has added Jimmy Fallon to the suit. In a filing obtained by Deadline on Tuesday, the woman, who claims former Saturday Night Live star Sanz sexually assaulted her in 2002, added Fallon, Tracy Morgan, and SNL creator Lorne Michaels to the complaint as “enablers”. The original filing claimed Sanz assaulted the woman - who remains anonymous - when she was 17.

The comedian, who joined the show in 1998, was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” during that time, before his 2006 exit.The suit said Morgan reportedly rented out a space for an “after-after-party” in May 2002, where Jane Doe alleged Sanz assaulted her as a teenager.NBC had also filed a motion to dismiss the suit in April.

The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, alleges that Sanz “groomed” her when she was a teen fan of the show. She also alleges that Sanz kissed her, groped her, and attempted to digitally penetrate her at a party in May 2002, when she was 17 years old. She filed suit in August 2021 under a state law that opened a two-year “lookback window” allowing victims of child sex abuse to bring claims that otherwise would have been barred by the statute of limitations. More recently, New York City amended its own law to create a one-year lookback window, allowing accusers to sue anyone who enabled such conduct.

I found my place at SNL and I’ve spent the past two decades developing the most incredible friendships and memories alongside some truly brilliant and talented people."  The New York native added that she had met her ex-husband and former "SNL" producer Kevin Miller, with whom she shares a daughter, Maddie, through her work on the show.

Documentary Now! is back on IFC and it is set to premiere Season 53 on Wednesday, October 19 at 10 p.m. ET with two new episodes. The titles of the two-part season premiere are “Soldier of Illusion,” written by John Mulaney, and “Trouver Frisson,” which plays tribute to the Agnès Varda films.

Television content is booming. According to Nielsen’s most recent State of Play report, between February 2021 and February 2022 more than three-quarters of a million TV shows can now be watched on streaming and traditional television platforms. That makes the feat of capturing an Emmy nomination all the more impressive, and each of these nominated programs participating in today’s Deadline’s Contenders Television: The Nominees award season event deserve their accolades.

Rumors continue to swirl around the demise of one of the few sketch-comedy shows remaining, "Saturday Night Live." With tanking ratings, a dwindling all-star cast and creator Lorne Michaels' contract expiring imminently, the show might not be "live from New York" for much longer. In a recent interview with Charlamagne Tha God, the longest-tenured cast member of "SNL," Kenan Thompson, alluded to the end being near.  When asked about the rumors the show would be ending, he said, "There could be a lot of validity to that rumor, because 50's a good year to stop at."
