Rob Schneider: Kate McKinnon Singing ‘Hallelujah’ as Hillary Clinton Killed ‘SNL’ and ‘It’s Not Going to Come Back’

Zack Sharf Rob Schneider said during a recent interview (via Mediaite) that “Saturday Night Live” was killed for good when Kate McKinnon sang Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” as Hillary Clinton during the cold open of the show’s first episode back after the 2016 presidential election. McKinnon parodied Clinton throughout the 2016 election cycle, but the show took a somber and serious approach to Clinton’s loss against Donald Trump by starting the post-election episode with McKinnon’s Hillary performing “Hallelujah” at a piano. “I hate to crap on my old show,” Schneider said. “I literally prayed, ‘Please have a joke at the end. Don’t do this. Please don’t go down there.’ And there was no joke at the end, and I went, ‘It’s over. It’s over. It’s not going to come back.’”

accused last year by a woman who alleged he sexually assaulted her when she was underage, but now she’s claiming that “SNL” alums Tracy Morgan and Jimmy Fallon, as well as show creator Lorne Michaels, were “enablers,” Deadline reported. The accuser filed legal papers on Tuesday naming the three men in connection to the suit, which was originally filed in August 2021.The Pennsylvania woman, named Jane Doe in the court records, accused Sanz of sexual misconduct when she was just 17 years old and also named NBC in the original suit. When contacted by NBC, a spokesperson told The Post, “Regardless of Jane Doe’s changing narratives, NBC intends to renew its motion to dismiss.”Sanz’s lawyer, Andrew Brettler, has denied the allegations. The Post has reached out to reps for Morgan, Fallon and Michaels for comment. In Tuesday’s filing, she claimed Michaels, 77, created a hostile and toxic environment and that young girls were frequent attendees at the sketch show’s infamous “after-parties” and “after-after parties,” alleging in court docs that alcohol was served to the minors at the late-night bashes. The woman claimed that “The Tonight Show” host, 47, and the “30 Rock” comedian, 53, were also at these parties and reportedly allowed the inappropriate behavior to occur.Court docs alleged the Sanz incident happened at an “SNL” party back in 2002 with several witnesses around, according to Deadline. The comedian, who joined the show in 1998, was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” during that time, before his 2006 exit. The suit said Morgan reportedly rented out a space for an “after-after-party” in May 2002, where Jane Doe alleged Sanz assaulted her as a teenager.NBC had also filed a motion to dismiss the suit in April.

Horatio Sanz Accuser Claims Jimmy Fallon, Lorne Michaels and Tracy Morgan Enabled Sex Assault

Gene Maddaus Senior Media Writer A woman who is suing former “SNL” star Horatio Sanz for sexual assault asked the court’s permission on Tuesday to add Jimmy Fallon, Lorne Michaels, and Tracy Morgan as defendants, arguing that they enabled Sanz’ misconduct. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, alleges that Sanz “groomed” her when she was a teen fan of the show. She also alleges that Sanz kissed her, groped her, and attempted to digitally penetrate her at a party in May 2002, when she was 17 years old. She filed suit in August 2021 under a state law that opened a two-year “lookback window” allowing victims of child sex abuse to bring claims that otherwise would have been barred by the statute of limitations. More recently, New York City amended its own law to create a one-year lookback window, allowing accusers to sue anyone who enabled such conduct.

Why 'SNL' could be ending, according to Kenan Thompson amid dwindling views and slashed 2022 cast

Rumors continue to swirl around the demise of one of the few sketch-comedy shows remaining, "Saturday Night Live." With tanking ratings, a dwindling all-star cast and creator Lorne Michaels' contract expiring imminently, the show might not be "live from New York" for much longer. In a recent interview with Charlamagne Tha God, the longest-tenured cast member of "SNL," Kenan Thompson, alluded to the end being near.  When asked about the rumors the show would be ending, he said, "There could be a lot of validity to that rumor, because 50's a good year to stop at." Lorne Michaels, left, and Kenan Thompson have been outspoken about the future of 'SNL.' (Getty Images) Thompson is referring to three seasons from now, when Michaels' contract with NBC expires.  The reason for the potential ending of "SNL" could be related to the ratings debacle, with the season 47 premiere recording only 4.9 million total viewers. The season 46 premiere in 2020 raked in over 8.2 million viewers, per a Nielsen report, meaning loss in viewership was just below 50 percent.
