McKinnon parodied Clinton throughout the 2016 election cycle, but the show took a somber and serious approach to Clinton’s loss against Donald Trump by starting the post-election episode with McKinnon’s Hillary performing “Hallelujah” at a piano. “I hate to crap on my old show,” Schneider said. “I literally prayed, ‘Please have a joke at the end. Don’t do this. Please don’t go down there.’ And there was no joke at the end, and I went, ‘It’s over. It’s over. It’s not going to come back.’”

The comedian, who joined the show in 1998, was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” during that time, before his 2006 exit.The suit said Morgan reportedly rented out a space for an “after-after-party” in May 2002, where Jane Doe alleged Sanz assaulted her as a teenager.NBC had also filed a motion to dismiss the suit in April.

Gene Maddaus Senior Media Writer A woman who is suing former “SNL” star Horatio Sanz for sexual assault asked the court’s permission on Tuesday to add Jimmy Fallon, Lorne Michaels, and Tracy Morgan as defendants, arguing that they enabled Sanz’ misconduct. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, alleges that Sanz “groomed” her when she was a teen fan of the show. She also alleges that Sanz kissed her, groped her, and attempted to digitally penetrate her at a party in May 2002, when she was 17 years old. She filed suit in August 2021 under a state law that opened a two-year “lookback window” allowing victims of child sex abuse to bring claims that otherwise would have been barred by the statute of limitations. More recently, New York City amended its own law to create a one-year lookback window, allowing accusers to sue anyone who enabled such conduct.

On Friday, the 42-year-old six-time Emmy Award winner took to Instagram to announce her exit from the show.  "After 20 seasons at Saturday Night Live (and 415 live shows - i counted!), I have decided to trade in the wild late night life and move on from the show," she wrote in a lengthy caption of a photo of herself on set.  Shookus continued, "When I started in 2002, I was a baby from Buffalo, NY who didn’t know anything about the business, except that I so badly wanted to be somehow part of it. I found my place at SNL and I’ve spent the past two decades developing the most incredible friendships and memories alongside some truly brilliant and talented people."  The New York native added that she had met her ex-husband and former "SNL" producer Kevin Miller, with whom she shares a daughter, Maddie, through her work on the show.

Rumors continue to swirl around the demise of one of the few sketch-comedy shows remaining, "Saturday Night Live." With tanking ratings, a dwindling all-star cast and creator Lorne Michaels' contract expiring imminently, the show might not be "live from New York" for much longer. In a recent interview with Charlamagne Tha God, the longest-tenured cast member of "SNL," Kenan Thompson, alluded to the end being near.  When asked about the rumors the show would be ending, he said, "There could be a lot of validity to that rumor, because 50's a good year to stop at."
