Star Wars’ Lando Calrissian show starring Donald Glover will not be happening anytime soon it seems. Even the writers are saying that they have “no clue” what is going on. The last update that writer Justin Simien got about the show was in the year 2020.

Justin Simien, director of Haunted Mansion and writer of the Lando Calrissian series at Disney+, is opening up about the Star Wars universe show almost three years since it was announced.

Harrison Ford has suited up for the latest premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny!

James Mangold’s life, Harrison Ford told him he was worried Indy was looking too old.  It was the fall of 2019, and Mangold had joined the team working on the film adaptation of “The Call of the Wild,” in which Ford plays a rugged frontiersman, to help with reshoots. In their downtime, Ford began confiding in Mangold about the fifth “Indiana Jones” movie, which had been bouncing around in development for the better part of three years. Steven Spielberg and screenwriter David Koepp had conceived a roughly five-minute opening sequence set during World War II, in which Ford would be digitally de-aged. Ford wasn’t sure it was a good idea.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director The U.S. premiere of “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” included an emotional and joyous reunion between franchise star Harrison Ford and recent “Everything Everywhere All at Once” Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan. The duo starred together in 1984’s “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” which marked Quan’s movie debut when he was just a child. A viral video from the “Dial of Destiny” red carpet sees Quan sneaking up behind Ford while the latter is being interviewed by “Extra” host Melvin Robert. Quan places his hand on Ford’s back, and then Ford turns around and smiles when he discovers his former co-star has surprised him.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter The live-action series “Star Wars: Ahsoka” officially has a premiere date at Disney+. It was previously announced that the show would debut in August, but it is now confirmed it will premiere on Aug. 23. Rosario Dawson stars in the series as Ahsoka Tano, whom she first played in Season 2 of “The Mandalorian” and again in “The Book of Boba Fett.” The official logline states, “Set after the fall of the Empire, ‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’ follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.” Disney has also released a new TV spot for the series, which can be seen below.

There he discovers that he had been scammed by the infamous Con Queen of Hollywood. Ravi Patel (“Transformers,” “Meet the Patels”) plays the fraudster.

All of us who create anything…I am in full support and I know most people are in full support of the writers getting what they deserve.” Kennedy said she’d like to see the strike resolved “in an environment where people can talk about what are some really complicated issues that are effecting the entire industry,” but it’s “going to take time.”

When you look at the state of the “Star Wars” franchise, there are two different stories to be told. On the one hand, you have the TV side of things over on Disney+, which seems to be thriving.

The indefinitely delayed tribute gala was scheduled for June 10 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. “For nearly half a century, the AFI Life Achievement Award has convened artists and audiences in celebration of excellence in the art form,” the organization said in a statement. “Due to the division in our community at this time, AFI has decided to postpone this year’s event with the goal to offer a celebratory environment worthy of our recipient.” When she was selected for the accolade in November, AFI Board of Trustees chair Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement, “Nicole Kidman has enchanted audiences for decades with the daring of her artistry and the glamour of a screen icon. She is a force both brave in her choices and bold in each performance.”

During an appearance on the “Smartless” podcast (via Total Film magazine), Joe Russo confirmed that the brothers had early talks about signing on for Marvel president Kevin Feige’s “Star Wars” movie. The project has since been shelved. “We love ‘Star Wars,'” Joe Russo said. “Kevin Feige is a huge ‘Star Wars’ fan, and there were some early conversations about maybe teaming up with Kevin to do ‘Star Wars.'”

Do you folks remember, not that long ago, during Star Wars Celebration, when Kathleen Kennedy told the press that Kevin Feige was never really attached to a “Star Wars” film and it was just the fandom that made it all up? She actually said, “We never discussed an idea,” and basically, gaslit everyone into thinking it was all a rumor. Of course, we know that’s not true because Feige talked about it, Michael Waldron talked about being hired to write a script, and now, we have the Russo Brothers, who not only confirm that Feige was working on a “Star Wars” film with Lucasfilm but that they were discussing possibly signing on to direct.

Damon Lindelof is revealing the circumstances behind his departure from the latest “Star Wars” production.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Damon Lindelof’s exit from the Star Wars universe was not a mutual decision, the writer confirmed in a new Esquire interview. The “Lost” and “The Leftovers” co-creator boarded a new Star Wars movie in 2022 with “Ms. Marvel” director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy attached to direct. Lindelof brought on Justin Britt-Gibson (“Counterpart,” “Into the Badlands”) to co-write the project with him. The duo exited the film in February. “I was in more than talks to join the Star Wars universe,” Lindelof told Esquire. “I joined the Star Wars universe and was asked to leave.”  Lindelof and Britt-Gibson were replaced as writers by Steven Knight, best known in recent years as the creator of “Peaky Blinders.” Obaid-Chinoy remained as director amid the screenwriting transition. Lindelof told Variety earlier this month that his script was “a true labor of love.”

A pre-taped message from Harrison Ford introduced an extended action clip from Lucasfilms’ highly anticipated Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny during Disney’s CinemaCon presentation here in Las Vegas this morning. Said the veteran actor, “Hello CinemaCon! Playing Indiana Jones all these years has meant the world to me. (The movies) have adventure and heart — and for some reason snakes.” In a charming call back to the original Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ford added, “Why did it have to be snakes?”

Harrison Ford was de-aged for a 25-minute scene in the forthcoming fifth installment of Indiana Jones. The trailer for Indiana Jones and Dial Of Destiny featured a jaw-dropping moment when a bag is pulled from Ford’s head to reveal a significantly younger version of him created through the use of VFX technology.Director James Mangold revealed to Total Film magazine that there is actually a 25-minute-long sequence where the character of Jones is back to being 35. “It was an incredible technology, and, in many ways, I just didn’t think about it,” the director shared.He continued: “I just focused on shooting what’s approximately a 25-minute opening extravaganza that was my chance to just let it rip.

At last weekend’s Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy revealed three new “Star Wars” movies in the pipeline.  Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy will direct a film that centers around Daisy Ridley‘s Rey; Dave Filoni has a film that culminates “The Mandalorian” and its connected Disney+ series; and James Mangold will helm “Dawn Of The Jedi,” about the birth of the Jedi order 25,000 years ago.

But I never say never, because there’s always the possibility.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said at the fan convention that Ridley’s new “Star Wars” movie will follow Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order, but the executive teased a bit more about the plot in an interview with IGN: “Star Wars” fans will pick up with Rey well over a decade after “The Rise of Skywalker.”
