English Teacher have dropped their seething new single ‘R&B’.The post-punk band have shared the latest song from their upcoming album ‘This Could Be Texas‘, due out April 12 via Island. ‘R&B’ was previously released in 2021, and has been re-recorded for their new record.Frontwoman Lily Fontaine has said this single is about a former partner: “When I was with him I had writer’s block and to add insult to irony, the only idea I had was for an R&B top line – the genre people always assumed I worked in.“As soon as he ended it, I converted that top line into the lyrics and riff for ‘R&B,’ and took it to my three best mates.

Seasick Steve has announced details of his new album ‘A Trip A Stumble A Fall Down On Your Knees’, and has shared its lead single ‘Backbone Slip’.The album is set to be released on June 7 via SO Recordings and can be pre-ordered here. It wouldn't be New Year's Eve without Jools Holland's Annual Hootenanny on BBC Two. The show, which has aired for the past 30 years, has become a time-honoured tradition for many people as part of their end-of-year celebrations.

Jools Holland‘s traditional New Year’s Eve show on BBC2 has been announced.Jools’ Annual Hootenanny will see the likes of Rod Stewart, Joss Stone, Olivia Dean, Paul Jones, P.P. Arnold, RAYE, Sugababes and The Mary Wallopers seeing in 2024.Other guests include Boogie Woogie Queen, Ruby Turner and as always, the Pipes & Drums of the 1st Battalion Scot Guards will feature, as the hour strikes midnight.Details of which songs the artists will perform on the night are yet to be announced.This year’s show will air from 11.30pm GMT on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer this Sunday (December 31).
