John Torode appeared on Monday's episode of ITV chat show, This Morning, to talk about his recent MBE.TV chef John, 57, was made an MBE by the Prince of Wales, 40, at Buckingham Palace earlier this year. John said of the achievement: "Honestly, it was one of the most exciting days of my life, it was so cool!" Talking about the conversation he had with "MasterChef fan" Prince William, he revealed: "We'd met before as I had cooked for him once before when he was playing polo. "Then he said to me he wanted to learn to cook, I said: 'That's fine, you've got my number now - just give me a ring anytime you like, and I'll teach you, that's fine!' "He was concerned I wasn't on MasterChef, as he had been watching the Professionals, which I don't do.

MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace urged the public to use tinned or frozen vegetables to combat food shortages after collecting an MBE.
