BreAnna Bell United Talent Agency has partnered with longtime TV executive Nick Emmerson, investing in his newly launched unscripted studio, Headers and Volleys Entertainment, Variety has learned exclusively. UTA continues to rep Emmerson in the US. Based in Brighton and London, UK, HAVE will focus on creating and producing unscripted content for the UK, the international SVODs and the US market, with several projects currently in development.

The details of his departure were revealed in a memo that was recently sent out to staff and obtained by Deadline. Sources add that it was Meenaghan’s decision to leave the agency and a very amicable one as he is very well liked at UTA.

Manori Ravindran Executive Editor of International When talent agency UTA officially opens shop in London on Thursday, it will be the latest American agency heavyweight to have a brick-and-mortar presence in the U.K. The 28,000-square-foot office at 1 Newman Street straddles Fitzrovia and trendy Soho. Designed by Gensler and Modus Workspace, the headquarters will be home to UTA’s music business as well as film and TV agents, and those working across everything from production arts to podcasting. The London office, which will be the agency’s European hub, will continue to be headed up by music agents Neil Warnock MBE and Obi Asika. UTA first carved out a presence in London in 2015 when it acquired British music practice The Agency Group. In 2021, the company expanded its footprint in music with the purchase of London-based Echo Location Talent Agency.

UTA, which last year acquired UK agency Curtis Brown, is opening a new office in London as it eyes further international growth.

Allan Haldeman, whose 18-year career at UTA has traced a familiar arc from mailroom to partner, has been named the head of the company’s New York office.

United Talent Agency has appointed veteran literary agent and UTA partner Allan Haldeman as the head of it’s New York office, the company announced Wednesday. Haldeman began his career with UTA in the mail room and has been with the agency for 18 years, rising to co-head of UTA’s literary department.

UTA announced new roles for two senior leadership members, promoting Jay Sures to vice chairman while naming David Kramer as president. The pair had served together as co-presidents of the company since 2017.In addition to his roles in building UTA’s television group, Sures oversees UTA’s news, speakers, and culture and leadership practices, while also representing a wide roster of talent. He was inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2016.The company did not specify what new responsibilities Kramer would assume as solo president.

United Talent Agency has landed a private equity investment from the firm EQT that will help the agency fuel its “next phase of growth,” the two companies announced Monday. Under the transaction, EQT will become the largest outside shareholder in the company, but UTA partnership and leadership will continue to have a controlling interest in the company. Both UTA and EQT are interested in expanding and investing in talent, innovation and international expansion.As part of the transaction, Investcorp, a global alternative investment firm, which invested in UTA in 2018, will sell its full minority stake to EQT, and EQT will also purchase a portion of existing stakes from continuing shareholders including PSP Investments.All employees at UTA regardless of level or tenure are expected to benefit financially from the new investment, an individual with knowledge of the deal tells TheWrap.
