Jonnie Irwin's co-star Danni Menzies sends emotional message following terminal diagnosis
Danni Menzies, 33, took to Instagram today to share a heartfelt update with her 105,000 followers in light of the upsetting news. A Place in the Sun star Jonnie Irwin, 48, has bravely shared that he has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and only has six months to live.This afternoon, Danni shared a photograph of herself laughing and hugging Jonnie next to co-star Jean Johansson. She captioned the poignant pic: “You ledge @jonnieirwintv so incredibly brave to share your diagnosis with the world. “A true inspiration to us all to cherish all the moments we can with the people we love. “Love and laughs always to you and you’re gorge fam xxx,” she added. Yesterday, the news broke that the A Place In The Sun and Escape To The Country presenter had just six months to live. Jonnie has said he hopes that sharing his diagnosis will inspire others to "make the most of every day".The Channel 4 and BBC star shared how his lung cancer has sadly spread to his brain and admitted he “doesn’t know how long he has left” after hearing the devastating news.Jonnie, who shares three-year-old son Rex and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac with his wife Jessica, said he had chosen to keep his illness private until now.The star spoke about early warning signs of his illness, which came while he was filming A Place In The Sun in August 2020 in Italy.The presenter recalled how his vision became blurry while driving, which happened shortly before he was given his heartbreaking diagnosis. “Within a week of flying back from filming, I was being given six months to live,” he explained.“I had to go home and tell my wife, who was looking after our babies, that she was on her own pretty much.That was devastating.“All I could do was apologise to her.
