And now Jacobs shows once again he knows how to attract top actors with well-written characters in the intimate drama, His Three Daughters which stars Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne as a trio of sisters gathering in the New York City apartment where their father (Jay O. Sanders) is down the hall (unseen for most of the film) and near death. They have arrived to spend his final days with him, stretched out here to three, but also to renew their own dysfunctional dynamic in what could easily have been made as a play rather than a film, and feels just a bit too stagey for its own good.

Saturday Night Live.The filmmaker will reunite with Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-writer Gil Kenan to pen the script for the project, which will tell the behind-the-scenes story of the show’s premiere episode on October 11, 1975.According to Deadline, the film will be based on real-life accounts of Saturday Night Live’s opening night from an extensive series of interviews conducted by Reitman and Kenan with “all the living cast, writers and crew”.This is the second film Reitman is working on for Sony Pictures. He’s also serving as a co-writer and producer on the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, directed by Kenan.Aside from the 2021 reboot of Ghostbusters, Reitman is best known for directing films Juno, Up In The Air and Young Adult.

Producer Jason Reitman appeared via video sans footage with the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel cast of McKenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon in what was the first look of the movie. True crime drama “Boston Strangler” is set to premiere in March exclusively on Hulu, the streamer announced Tuesday. The feature film from 20th Century dives into the infamous Boston Strangler murders of the 1960s.“Boston Strangler” — written and directed by Matt Ruskin (“Crown Heights”) — will portray the true story of Loretta McLaughlin, the first reporter to break the story of the titular murderer, who slayed 13 women in the areas surrounding in the early ’60s. The film stars Oscar nominee Keira Knightley as McLaughlin, alongside Carrie Coon, Alessandro Nivola and Chris Cooper.

Dan Aykroyd, 69, is speaking out after the devastating death of Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman. The actor, who was one of the cast members of the original 1984 supernatural comedy film about ghost hunters, released a statement on Twitter about the iconic creator, who died at the age of 75 on Feb. 12.
