A person has died after being hit by a train near Warrington.
The person was struck at Padgate train station shortly before 1.40pm today, British Transport Police (BTP) said.
Paramedics attended but the casualty was pronounced dead at the scene.
Train services between Manchester and Warrington are disrupted as a result of the incident.
