‘Peppa Pig’ Writer Part Of Kartoon’s ‘Winnie-The-Pooh’ Team
Just days after unveiling a $30M, multi-year Winnie-the-Pooh plan, Kartoon Studios has unveiled its writing, directing and commercial team. Sam Morrison, who was part of the writing team for Nickelodeon’s Peppa Pig, has been named Head Writer, with Emmy winnner Michale Maliani the director. Kids TV industry veteran Paul Robinson, who was former Managing Director of Disney Channel Worldwide and is the current President of Kartoon Channel! Worldwide & Head of International Sales, will handle international distribution and former Paramount Pictures, Electronic Arts and DIC Entertainment exec Ryan Gagerman has been appointed Head of Global Licensing. He’s known for rolling out Strawberry Shortcake, on which he previously worked with Kartoon Chairman and CEO Andy Heyward. As part of Kartoon’s plan to make several feature films and a series based on A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh books, a retail deal was struck with Alliance Entertainment for a nationwide consumer products launch, with Kartoon overseeing international. On screen, an animated holiday movie, five holiday specials and 104 episodes of a series are being rolled out over four years through the subscription kids network Kartoon Channel via Prime Video Channels. Funding for the content is coming through a $30M joint venture agreement with Winnie the Pooh SPV, a subsidiary of Catalyst Venture Partners. Kartoon unveiled its Winnie move on Friday, more than two years after the famous honey-munching bear entered the public domain in the U.S. This means Disney, which acquired the rights to the original Winnie-the-Pooh book in 1961, no longer has exclusivity on works based on the classic.

Lady Jane has landed on Prime Video today (June 27) and here’s every song on the show’s soundtrack.The new series is partly based on history, centring on Lady Jane Grey, a Tudor noblewoman who briefly claimed the English and Irish throne in 1553.Known as the ‘Nine-Day Queen’, she was beheaded but in Prime’s new show, “the damsel in distress saves herself.”A synopsis says it is “a radical retelling of English royal history, in which King Henry VIII’s son Edward does not die of tuberculosis, Lady Jane Grey is not beheaded, and neither is her rascal of a husband Guildford”.All eight episodes of the show will land on Prime at 8am on June 27 and the series features a cast including Edward Bluemel, Jordan Peters, Dominic Cooper, Anna Chancellor, Rob Brydon, Jim Broadbent, Henry Ashton, Isabella Brownson, Robyn Betteridge, Kate O’Flynn, Abbie Hern, Máiréad Tyers, Joe Klocek and Michael Workeye.Check out the trailer for the new series here:The track listing for the new show can be found below. Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Aiming to expand its footprint within the scripted space, Banijay Entertainment’s French label Screenline Productions has formed a creative partnership with the writers duo Matthieu Rumani and Nicolas Slomka. Screenline just collaborated with Rumani and Slomka on the series “Trash,” an upcoming Prime Videomini-series inspired by the real-life events of “Loft Story,” the French adaptation of “Big Brother” which marked the country’s first reality show of this kind in 2001.

Per the official synopsis, “After Santa Claus (Simmons) – Code Name: ‘Red One’ – is kidnapped, the North Pole’s Head of Security (Johnson) must team up with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter (Evans) in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas.” In the trailer, Johnson takes an ordinary Hot Wheels car from a toy store and turns it into a full-sized Chevy Corvette using some space-aged Christmas technology.

Hailing from humble circumstances in Bengaluru, southern India, Manohara was picked out of school and cast by filmmaker Prithvi Konanur in “Railway Children” (2016), which won him best child actor at India’s National Film Awards. Manohara went on to act in supporting roles in Konanur’s Busan and Hainan selection “Where Is Pinki?” (2020) and Busan, Hong Kong and Goa title “Seventeeners,” on which he also assisted.
