Social Security Scotland recently announced that more people in receipt of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will start moving to the new Adult Disability Payment (ADP) over the coming months.

Scotland’s welfare system is also reminding claimants that “people will not have to undergo DWP style face-to-face assessments. Instead, they may go through a consultation with our in-house health and social care team and their award will be reviewed using our new decision making model.”
It also explained that before the transfer process begins, the DWP will send people a letter to let them know that their benefit is moving to Social Security Scotland and when their PIP or DLA award will end. During the transfer, the DWP will continue paying the benefit until their award has moved.
Social Security Scotland said that during the time this transfer is taking place, people should still “communicate any further changes to the DWP”. After the award transfer is completed, Social Security Scotland will write to the claimant to let them know what
