Michael Schneider Variety Editor at LargeTimed to the release of Hulu’s “McCartney, 3, 2, 1,” legendary music producer Rick Rubin has sealed a partnership with Endeavor Content to push his famous Shangri La Recording Studios further into film and television. The overall deal will pair Rubin with Peter Berg’s Film 45, the production company that Endeavor Content acquired in 2019.

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at LargeRaven-Symoné and Loni Love have been tapped to host the next two Daytime Emmy ceremonies, which will be held virtually this weekend by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.Supplementing the 48th Annual Daytime Emmys telecast on CBS last month, the Daytime Emmys Children’s & Animation awards will be handed out on Saturday, July 17 at 8 p.m.

"Bachelor" stars Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell made their first red carpet appearance as a couple at the 2021 ESPY Awards. The pair attended the athletic award show in New York City on Saturday, which was hosted at The Rooftop at Pier 17 – an open-air venue in the Seaport District.  James, 29, sported a rust and black plaid suit while Kirkconnell, 24, wore a simple black gown.

BET called it a “pivotal shift for our brand and a commemoration of our 40-year legacy of Black excellence.”Perhaps the most noticeable change: BET’s logo now forms a square, with “B” and “E” on the top line, and “T” and the network’s signature star underneath.

In the journalism section, “PBS NewsHour” anchor Judy Woodruff was named the first-ever recipient of the Peabody Award for Journalistic Integrity, with “PBS NewsHour” also receiving two Peabodys for their work covering the COVID-19 pandemic and migrant caravans in Central America.

The Peabody Awards ended its four days of virtual announcements crowning Steve McQueen’s “Small Axe” as its final entertainment category winner. It was joined by acclaimed documentaries “Welcome to Chechnya” and “The Cave.” Apple TV+’s “Stillwater” rounded out the last children’s and youth category winner.

The third day of Peabody Awards results are in and in a wonderful reminder to Emmy voters, today’s big winner was Michaela Coel’s “I May Destroy You.” The HBO limited series was the only entertainment category winner announced today along with “La Llorona,” an International Film Oscar shortlist film that somehow qualified for a Peabody (I guess…streaming?).
