A host of famous faces have arrived at Paul O’Grady’s funeral to mourn their late friend. The TV favourite passed away “unexpectedly” aged 67 on 28 March, leaving his friends, family and fans heartbroken. Paul is being laid to rest in a private ceremony in Kent, where the star had lived for 20 years years. Ahead of the service, fans of the late comic and presenter lined the streets to pay their respects – dogs and all.
Many of people's tributes noted Paul's decades-long love of animals and his advocacy work for Battersea Dogs and Cats home in particular. First of the celebs to arrive at the church for Paul's funeral was Jo Brand who sported a black bandana for the sombre affair. She was joined by ex EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison.
Elsewhere, EastEnders veteran Linda Henry was also early to arrive. She was seen sporting a black fedora and button down tailored coat. Ronnie Wood was also spotted ahead of the funeral and looked to be being supported by his wife, Sally.
Meanwhile Gaby Roslin attended the ceremony solo and looked downbeat as she made her way to the church. Following Paul's death, dozens of celebrities paid tribute to the former The Paul O’Grady Show host, with the likes of Lorraine Kelly, Vernon Kay and John Barrowman leading the comments. John wrote online: "I am totally shocked and sad to hear the awful news that Paul O'Grady has died.
An awesome talent stretching decades. From watching him as Lily Savage at the Vauxhall Tavern to sitting with him laughing backstage at West End Bares to being a guest on his @itv Paul O'Grady show." Taking to Twitter, daytime TV star Lorraine penned: “Such sad news. Paul O'Grady - funny, fearless, brave, kind and wise.
