Paul Mescal fights a rhinoceros in ‘Gladiator II’

David Gilmour has admitted he found The Beatles‘ Get Back documentary a “hard watch”.The Pink Floyd guitarist made the comments in a new print interview with Uncut (via Guitar.com), where he spoke about the Peter Jackson-directed documentary released in 2021. Get Back was constructed from over 60 hours of footage when they recorded their final album, 1970’s ‘Let It Be’.In the interview, he shared that he frequently watches documentaries of bands from the 60s and 70s, including The Beatles.

Comedian Julian Clary paused his live show in Liverpool to pay tribute to the late Merseyside icon Paul O'Grady. Julian, who was a close friend of the TV star, shared some of the final messages he exchanged with Paul before his death last year and touching anecdotes about their friendship. Paul, who was born in Birkenhead, died aged 67 in March 2023.

Paul McCartney & Wings are set to release their 1974 live studio album ‘One Hand Clapping’ for the first time.The album was recorded back in August 1974, while the band were enjoying their seventh week in a row at the top of the UK album charts with ‘Band On The Run’. It was recorded when McCartney and Wings headed to Abbey Road Studios for the recording of a documentary and possible live studio album – ‘One Hand Clapping’.Filmed across four days and directed by David Litchfield, the album was never officially released despite overwhelming demand, although various bootleg versions emerged over the years.Set to arrive on June 14, the upcoming version of the LP marks the first time in 50 years that it has received an official release.“’One Hand Clapping’ showcased Wings‘ new line-up, fresh off their return from Nashville where they recorded the classic single ‘Junior’s Farm’,” read a press release.

The late Paul O'Grady's husband, Andre Portasio, has reportedly sparked outrage with plans to transform the star's rural estate, as conservationists condemn his proposal. Andre has planned to remodel a hut on a rustic estate he inherited from his TV star spouse into a property triple the size, meeting stark opposition from environmentalists.They argue against the plans, insisting they '"fail to conserve or enrich the special character and unique qualities" of the Kent Downs region.

Paul McCartney was joined by The Eagles on a version of ‘Let It Be’ at a tribute concert for the late Jimmy Buffett at the Hollywood Bowl this week. The singer-songwriter, known for his tropical rock sound, died at the age of 76 last September after a four-year battle with skin cancer. Gladiator has been revealed.The follow-up to the Oscar-winning epic historical movie, released in 2000, is on the way, with Ridley Scott returning to direct.Starring All Of Us Strangers and Normal People’s Paul Mescal in the lead, the sequel will focus on Lucius, the son of Connie Nielsen’s Lucilla from the first film.Nielsen will be reprising her role, and the cast will also be joined by Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington and Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn.Also reprising his role from the first movie, which starred Russell Crowe in the lead, will be Derek Jacobi, who played Senator Gracchus.Paramount Pictures is set to present its theatrical slate at CinemaCon in Las Vegas later this week.
