Paul Burrell has shared some happy news in an update on his prostate cancer, admitting that he feels "more emotional than usual".
The former Royal butler has been battling cancer over the past year after medical checks for the All Stars series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! lead to a diagnosis. Paul, 65, appeared on Thursday's Lorraine, where he beamed as he shared his good news with Lorraine Kelly and Dr Hilary Jones.
He said: "I'm happy to tell you Lorraine that I went to my consultant last week and she gave me the all clear, so that's wonderful." Paul added: "My numbers came down from originally something like 10 down to 0.06. I'll continue with the hormone therapy which is a bit of a pain because I've put on a little bit of weight, I'm getting more emotional than usual and hot sweats.
I can now sympathise. Don't know what it's like for women, but I can sympathise." Lorraine laughed as she told him: "For most of us women of a certain age, you know exactly what it's like." Paul encouraged viewers to go for their own health checks as he said: "Men, go to your doctor and get a blood test." Dr Hilary agreed with him, adding: "Prostate cancer is treatable.
The earlier you go, the better." Speaking previously on Lorraine, Paul had thanked I'm A Celeb and ITV for "saving his life".
He said: "That show, I’m A Celebrity, literally saved my life. Because I went for the medical [and] they found a raised PSA level." Paul told how he had gone for treatment after finishing the series and said: "I’m so grateful to ITV for picking me to do the jungle because, without that, I would still be sat here today not knowing I had cancer growing inside of me.
