Parents can't stop raving online about a new sellout playsofa that turns into a den. Let's be honest, we've all been there. Usually with a duvet, some chairs and a very begrudging parent scrabbling together some semblance of a fort.
Whether little ones want to make a princess castle, a superhero hideaway, or simply... a fort, there's no stopping an imaginative child. Which is possibly why parents have fallen head over heels for independent business Zonky and their interactive playsofa, which launched in September 2021.
The Zonky costs £199 and is effectively a series of soft, durable building blocks that children can use to create an array of creations. So whilst it can of course just be a sofa, the complete set is made up of six modular pieces: a foldable base and base support, two triangular pillows and two cuboid pillows, to help young kids when putting their dens together. The playsofa is made from 'bouncy' foam pieces, each covered in removable, vegan suede covers.
Reviews for The Zonky are indisputably positive, with one fan saying: "My little boy has not stopped playing with this since it arrived. He tells everyone about it and it has been a den, rocket ship, bed, car track, and his favourite… the obstacles course!" In fact, out of the 65 reviews on their website, 64 have given five out of five stars. The one four-star review was still glowing, but would like the cushions to be the "same depth of the sofa so they can be used to better stabilise the builds." In the grand scheme of things, that's not so bad.
