Comedian Paddy McGuinness is set to have a meltdown on this Sunday night’s episode of Celebrity Great British Bake Off. After watching his cake completely collapse in the oven, the 49-year-old has to start his baking all over again. The epic gingerbread fail is followed by bleeped out swearing, with some of the cake even ending up on the floor in bits.
Paddy joins a huge lineup of celebrities taking part in the competition, which will raise money for Stand Up To Cancer. A whole host of celebrities join the comedian including Loose Women star Coleen Nolan, Strictly star Ellie Taylor, former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson and Inbetweeners actor Joe Thomas. Actors David Morrissey and Jessica Haynes, Olympic gold medallist Tom Daley OBE, Friends star David Schwimmer, the Repair Shop’s Jay Blades, Dragons’ Den star Deborah Meaden and TV presenter AJ Odudu are also included in the star-studded lineup.
When explaining his bake off disaster, Paddy joked: “The shaft has collapsed. The story of my life.” He continues: “No, no, no, no, that’s not good. I don’t know what to do.” Loose Women star Coleen Nolan then asks him: “What the hell is that?” Paddy responds: “That’s nice, isn’t it? That’s the encouragement you want.” Shortly after the exchange, Paddy notices the huge gingerbread fail and says: “What the hell is that?” The comedian is determined to continue, and picks up the pastry off the floor and puts it back onto his work surface. Paddy hatches a new plan and makes another batch, refusing to let the epic fail knock him back.
Revealing his new plan, he says: “So I’m going to make another batch. We go again. We do not get stopped by a ginger biscuit.” The series started on March 19, and has seen plenty of different baking
