Last week, Outlander production company Starz confirmed the exciting news that they'd cast the four lead roles for the upcoming prequel Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood will explore the lives of Highland Warrior Jamie Fraser's parents, Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) alongside the origin story of Claire's parents, Jula Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine).
And despite there being no official release date confirmed as of yet, fans have praised the casting, with some even describing it as 'absolutely perfect'.
Best known for her role as Sandra Onslow in DC’s Pennyworth and Belgravia: The Next Chapter, Harriet Slater will star in the prequel of the time-travelling drama.
The star made her TV debut in 2019, appearing in the Batman prequel Pennyworth - and has since made her mark in the world of television, starring in action and adventure film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Now, the star will play Highland warrior Jamie Fraser's mother, Ellen as the love story of Ellen and Jamie's father Brian is explored.
Outlander fans were delighted with the news that Harriet would portray Ellen, with many taking to social media to share their opinions.
