The 93rd Academy Awards were held recently and in a surprising moment, the awards ended with the announcement of the Best Actor honour instead of the Best Picture win like always. The biggest acting honour of the night was taken home by Anthony Hopkins for his performance in The Father.

Anthony Hopkins recently won the Best Actor Award at the 93rd Academy Awards. The veteran actor carved his name in history for being the oldest actor to win an acting Oscar at the age of 83.

Oscars 2021 broke the Academy Award's longstanding tradition, which was to have the prestigious Best Picture Oscar given at the very end. This time, it was the Academy Award for Best Actress and Actor in a Leading Role, who were given the 'final awards' spotlight.

The 93rd Academy Awards were held on April 25, 2021, and saw several celebrities turning up looking their best for the ceremony. Among the night's biggest honours celebrating the best of talent in cinema, the Best Actor award was bagged by actor Anthony Hopkins for his role in The Father.

Anthony Hopkins has paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman in a belated Oscars speech, following the star-studded ceremony, the Hollywood icon took to Instagram to post a sweet message in memory of the talented actor.The 83-year-old star of The Father accepted the Academy Award for Best Actor, admitting that although he feels extremely grateful for the award, he did not expect to win, and wanted to take a moment to honor “Chadwick Boseman, who was taken from us far too early.”He also went on to show

After winning the award for best actor for his performance in The Father, Anthony Hopkins recently reacted to his big win. The 83-year-old actor shared a video on Instagram, thanking his fans and the Academy, and also the late Chadwick Boseman who was expected to win posthumously in the ceremony.  In his video, the actor began by saying “Good morning, so here I am in my homeland in Wales.

Unlike the rest of the world tuning in to watch Hollywood's biggest night, Anthony Hopkins was sound "asleep" and had no idea when Joaquin Phoenix announced that he had won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Father at Oscars 2021.

Last night’s Oscars was filled with colourful frocks, smiling A-listers and also saw the first woman in 13 years win Best Director. And as is the norm with any awards ceremony, there were various highs and lows during the evening, with some even calling it “the most awkward end ever” after Anthony Hopkins scooped up the award for Best Actor.
