Only Fools and Horses star, Nicholas Lyndhurst, is set to return to our TV screens after being a hit with bosses in Hollywood.
The star has signed to appear in another series of popular US sitcom, Frasier, and has landed a great role. Not only that, he is set to star alongside Kelsey Grammer, who plays title character Frasier Crane.
The legendary 62-year-old actor, who famously played Rodney Trotter alongside Sir David Jason's Del Trotter, reportedly landed a big-money deal to reprise his role as sarcastic Dr Alan Cornwall.
The sitcom, according to the Mirror, will be filmed in front of a studio audience in Los Angeles with a show insider claiming: "Nicholas has signed on the dotted line to film another series. It’s a coup for the show because he’s so popular. Viewers love him."
Speaking about the sitcom, 69-year-old Kelsey revealed: "Frasier is a love story and I am happy we will be allowed to continue it. I can’t wait for the fans to see what we have in store."
The new series will stream on Paramount+ after another series was commissioned following its return last year. Jeff Grossman, executive VP programming at Paramount+ said in a statement he is among those excited to see more Frasier.
He said: "Kelsey made a triumphant return as one of the most iconic and beloved characters on television. The new series introduced Fraiser to a whole new generation while reminding fans of Kelsey’s truly timeless portrayal of Dr. Crane. We’re so excited to see what the creative team and superb cast serve up for season two."
