‘New York, New York’ Cast Celebrates Kander and Ebb’s Legacy as New Musical Opens on Broadway

Check it out above.The footage provides fans with a first glimpse at the film, which will be the latest from Goodfellas director, Martin Scorsese.Released today (May 18), the clip features narration from leading man, Leonardo DiCaprio. “Can you find the wolves in this picture?” he repeats at the end of the increasingly intense footage.Acting legend Robert De Niro is also featured briefly throughout the new teaser, as well as Lily Gladstone and Jesse Plemons.As per a press release, the film is described as an “epic western crime saga” and is based on the best-selling book of the same name, first released by David Grann in 2017.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not been contacted by the Royal Family after claiming to have been involved in a “near-catastrophic” car chase, it has been reported. Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, were followed by paparazzi after attending an awards ceremony with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland in New York on Tuesday, the couple’s spokesperson said.

William Earl Variety has announced the initial lineup for the Kering Women in Motion talks at the Cannes Film Festival. Moderated by Variety’s Senior Correspondent Elizabeth Wagmeister, this year’s talks include some of the most important women working in cinema and offers a mix between up-and-coming talent and iconic figures such as Cate Blanchett and Michelle Yeoh. On Thursday, May 18, playwright, actor and philanthropist Jeremy O. Harris, who stars in Directors’ Fortnight premiere “The Sweet East,” will kick off the Women in Motion series to discuss female representation in his work. Following Harris’ talk, actress and director Katie Holmes will speak about her work as a director and how the industry has changed in its approach to female directors since she first began working in television.

The biggest songwriting camp in the world, Anti Social Camp is free of charge and will feature 100 recording sessions, as well as a calendar of shows and parties. The goal is for artists, songwriters and producers to gather and create hit songs in a limited timeframe. Grey is best known for originating the Master of Ceremonies in the musical “Cabaret” on Broadway and also portrayed the Wizard of Oz in the contemporary hit “Wicked.” “We are immensely thrilled to honor two legends in their own rights. John Kander has composed the soundtrack to all of our lives — meeting us in every decade — creating unforgettable scores for ‘Cabaret,’ ‘Chicago,’ ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman,’ and his current Broadway hit ‘New York, New York,’” said Charlotte St. Martin, president of the Broadway League.

Reilly will serve as president of the jury of the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes Film Festival. “Salem,” directed by Jean-Bernard Marlin, has been added to the lineup. The other members of the jury will be French director and screenwriter Alice Winocour, German actor Paula Beer, French-Cambodian director and producer Davy Chou, and Belgian actor Émilie Dequenne. The Un Certain Regard section showcases art and discovery films by young auteurs. In a statement, Reilly said: “I have had so many life changing moments at the Festival de Cannes (from my miraculous first trip with Paul Thomas Anderson to celebrating my 50th birthday from the Palais stage!) so to be chosen as the president of Un Certain Regard jury is truly such an incredible honor.”

Netflix has renewed political drama The Diplomat for a second season.Created by Debora Cahn (The West Wing, Homeland), the series follows Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) as she becomes the new US Ambassador for the UK and juggles international crises with her turbulent marriage.After the show debuted on April 20, Netflix confirmed on Monday (May 1) the series will return for a second season.Speaking about the renewal, Russell said: “I am thrilled to be headed back for another round of this smart screwball show. Dare I say it’s fun? Thank you Netflix for giving us another shot.”The Diplomat has been renewed for Season 2.
