Mayor Bill de Blasio confirmed that the executive order will come into force on Tuesday, and described the disease as an “unprecedented threat”.

Forty-eight hours before New York City announced the temporary closure of roughly 25,000 bars, restaurants, and venues in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus, the city’s electronic music community had already shut down.
