Movie Theaters in New York City & Los Angeles Ordered to Close Because of Coronavirus

As the novel coronavirus continues to spread throughout New York, Ty Warner, the owner of the Four Seasons hotel, will provide free rooms for medical personnel in order to curb the spread of COVID-19. Doctors, nurses and other medical professionals working on the frontlines of the pandemic are being offered complimentary stays at the luxe hotel on East 57th Street.

The festival was set to be headlined by Tame Impala, Missy Elliott, Flume and Vampire Weekend

A Go Fund Me campaign to raise money for New York City movie theater workers who have been laid off or furloughed due to the coronavirus pandemic has reached its goal. The Cinema Workers Solidarity Fund has racked up $74,587 in donations, surpassing the $74,000 it set out to raise. The initiative was launched a week and a half ago by Light Industry, Screen Slate, and other community partners.

SAG-AFTRA’s national headquarters in Los Angeles has been closed due to minimize the risk of exposure to the coronavirus.

Forty-eight hours before New York City announced the temporary closure of roughly 25,000 bars, restaurants, and venues in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus, the city’s electronic music community had already shut down. Starting on Thursday afternoon, clubs across Brooklyn and Manhattan made the decision to shutter their doors and cancel forthcoming events in quick succession.

Roommates, most of the country is dealing with self-quarantines, lockdowns and social distancing, which can quickly give you cabin fever with an urge to get out. Tribeca Film Festival will no longer be taking place next month. The 19th annual event for independent film was set for April 15 through April 26, but has been postponed because of coronavirus.
