EXCLUSIVE: Netflix won the auction for the rights to make Beef, a 10-episode half-hour dramedy series from A24 that will mark Oscar-nominated Minari star Steven Yeun’s first episodic TV foray since his unforgettable exit from The Walking Dead. Yeun will star with Ali Wong in a series that is the creation of Lee Sung Jin.
Deadline revealed the project when it was pitched about a week ago, creating a frenzy among the streamers. Netflix has committed to a series order.

Minari’s Steven Yeun is set to appear in the next film from Get Out’s Jordan Peele, it has been reported.The as-yet-undisclosed role is Yeun’s first to be confirmed since he was nominated for Best Actor at this year’s Oscar for his portrayal of Jacob Yi in Minari.Peele will direct and produce the new movie, which doesn’t have a title at present.
Steven Yeun had gone from being one of the original stars of “The Walking Dead,” when it was the biggest thing on the planet, to starring in a series of acclaimed films including “Burning,” “Sorry to Bother You,” and of course, “Minari.” But it doesn’t look like his string of hits is going to end anytime soon, as it appears that Jordan Peele has his eyes on Yeun for an upcoming film.
