Anne Hathaway and Salma Hayek Pinault are teaming up to star in and produce action-comedy “Seesaw Monster.” Netflix acquired the rights to the book by Kotaro Isaka (the author of “Bullet Train”), with Olivia Milch (“Ocean’s Eight”) attached to adapt the screenplay.While plot details are being kept under wraps, Hathaway and Hayek Pinault will play enemies forced to work together in an action comedy two-hander. Joining the pair on the producing side are Akiva Goldsman and Gregory Lessans for Weed Road Pictures, and “Bullet Train” producers Ryosuke Saegusa and Yuma Terada for CTB Inc.

Below are just some of the key takeaways from three action-packed days on the Croisette. One thing is for sure, while making TV is not the easiest business, the 10,896 attendees RX reported to have attended were simply delighted to be back together in person (last year’s restriction-laden Mipcom was hybrid and attendance figures comparatively low) and the atmosphere was the buzziest for many years, especially when the coffee machines were locked away and the alcohol started flowing. Patrick Frater Asia Bureau Chief Australian teen drama series Heartbreak High will return for Season 2 on streaming service Netflix. Produced by Fremantle Australia and NewBe, season 2 of “Heartbreak High” will see a reunion of the previous cast. They have assembled in Sydney, Australia and the nearby Gadigal, Dharug, Dharawal and Ku-ring-gai lands, for pre-production and filming. The show is a reimagination of an iconic piece of Australian television that first played between 1994 and 1996 on Network Ten. A second run played from 1997 to 1999 on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, in a version that was part-funded by the BBC.

Variety’s Legends and Groundbreakers Award on Ron Howard, the festival will recognize several creatives at their 2022 Festival Honors on Oct. 16 and Eddie Redmayne on Oct. 15. Eddie RedmayneIcon Award When Oscar winner Redmayne sat down in his first production meeting for “The Good Nurse,” his daughter had just been born. His daughter is 6 now as the feature is finally seeing its Netflix debut on Oct. 26. “It’s been a passion project, and it’s been one of those projects that each step of the way has been massively enjoyable, despite the intensity of the subject matter,” Redmayne says. Katie Reul editor The 66th annual British Film Institute (BFI) London Film Festival announced winners Saturday evening for a competition group representing a diverse selection of stories ranging from period pieces to eerie thrillers. Writer-director Marie Kreutzer’s “Corsage,” was recognized with the festival’s highest honor — the best film award — continuing the historical drama’s festival praise after lead actress Vicky Krieps was awarded the Un Certain Regard best performance prize at Cannes. Set during Christmas in 1877, “Corsage” follows Empress Elizabeth as she attempts to find liberation from the stifling conformity of her stuffy, image-focused lifestyle as a Vienna royal. Though the film is in part based on the historical figure, who reigned for 44 years, artistic deviations are made in the former ruler’s story.
