Netflix, HBO, Hulu, and More Companies Voice Support for Black Lives Matter Amid Protests Over George Floyd's Death

NEW YORK -- As protests erupted across the country following the death of George Floyd, every major entertainment company in Hollywood issued statements of support for the black community. But as unanimous as that show of solidarity was, it was also clear that this wasn't a fight Hollywood could watch from the sidelines.

Lisa Vanderpump's cocktail lounge, PUMP, in Los Angeles has been boarded up and covered in Black Lives Matter messages as protests continue over the death of George Floyd while he was in police custody. The spray-painted tags also come in the wake of Bravo firing four cast members from her show "Vanderpump Rules" for past racially insensitive actions.

The young cast of Netflix’s sci-fi, coming of age series Stranger Things is standing in solidarity against systemic racism and police brutality. In a series of images circulated across social media by devoted fans, a number of the stars have shown their support for the Black Lives Matter movement, attending a number of protests across the nation from Los Angeles to the site of the series’ filming in Atlanta.

Billie Eilish kept a low profile when she attended a protest for George Floyd and Black Lives Matter in Los Angeles on June 4. She kept her presence at the protest off of social media, aside from one video, which she posted to her Instagram Story. Billie doesn’t appear in the video herself, as she’s filming the hundreds of other protesters who are joining her to fight against racial injustice.
