Netflix drops trailer for Korean music reality show ‘Take 1’, starring MAMAMOO, AKMU and more

Lookism.On September 25, the streaming platform premiered the trailer on its YouTube channel, at the same time revealing that Lookism will begin streaming on November 4.The trailer follows an overweight high school student named Park Hyeong-seok, who is frequently bullied and harassed by his peers who consider him unattractive. One day, Hyeong-seok wakes up and discovers that he has received a new, conventionally attractive body, which he can use while his original body is asleep.With his days spent split between the two different bodies, Hyeong-seok begins to realise just how differently the world treats him based on his physical appearance.The trailer is soundtracked by a snippet of an original song performed by K-pop boyband ATEEZ.

Netflix announced the release date of the third season of the romantic comedy. Set and filmed in the provinces of Paris, including Ile-de-France, the series follows Emily Cooper, who lands an unexpected opportunity to provide an American insight for French luxury marketing company - Savoir. Emily - played by Lily Collins - initially struggles to adapt to the Parisian lifestyle, which is a different world to her Midwestern upbringing, as she tries to win over her new work colleagues, creating new friendships and tangling herself in a complicated love story.

The show’s third and fourth seasons are currently filming in France. Netflix will be unveiling some special news on “Emily in Paris” on Sept. 24 during its virtual Tudum event. The third season brings back producer and star Lily Collins also returns Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Lucien Laviscount, Lucas Bravo, Ashley Park and Camille Razat, among others. Season three follows Emily as she finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life. Faced with two very different paths, Emily will have to decide exactly where her loyalties lie — at work and in her romantic life — and what those decisions mean for her future in France, all while continuing to immerse herself in the adventures and surprising twists and turns that life in Paris provides.  The first images unveiled today suggest Emily will reunite with her British boyfriend, played by Laviscount.

“The Midnight Club” series, and death abounds in the next show from “The Haunting of Hill House,” “The Haunting of Bly Manor” and “Midnight Mass” creator Mike Flanagan.The show is based on the beloved Christopher Pike novel of the same name and takes place at a hospice with a mysterious history, where the eight members of the Midnight Club (all of whom are terminally ill) meet each night at midnight to tell sinister stories – and to look for signs of the supernatural from the beyond.Mike Flanagan executive produces and directs the show alongside Trevor Macy through their Intrepid Pictures and Leah Fong. Flanagan and Fong are the show’s creators, while Pike serves as an executive producer.The first season spans 10 one-hour episodes and stars Iman Benson, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Annarah Cymone, Chris Sumpter, Adia, Aya Furukawa, Sauriyan Sapkota, Matt Biedel, Samantha Sloyan, with Zach Gilford and Heather Langenkamp.This is the latest horror-tinged Netflix series from Flanagan, who also directed the Warner Bros.

The group makes a pact to contact the others from beyond the grave should one of them perish.The series stars Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, William Chris Sumpter and Sauriyan Sapkota, with Heather Langenkamp as the enigmatic doctor presiding over Rotterdam Home.The series is created by Flanagan and “The Haunting of Bly Manor” writer Leah Fong. Flanagan executive produces for Intrepid Pictures along with Trevor Macy and Adam Fasullo, Intrepid Pictures’ vice president of television. Fong also serves as an executive producer with Julia Bicknell and “The Midnight Club” author, Pike. Elan Gale, James Flanagan and Chinaka Hodge write on the series, with Flanagan set to direct the first two episodes.

Mike Flanagan has built an impressive recent resume with his horror miniseries on Netflix. It all started with 2018’s “The Haunting Of Hill House,” with its follow-up, “The Haunting Of Bly Manor” coming two years later.

Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has addressed concerns around the upcoming reality show based on the Netflix series.Netflix announced plans to adapt the survival drama, which follows contestants who take part in a series of life-threatening games to win a huge cash prize, into a reality show competition back in June.The show, titled Squid Game: The Challenge, will see contestants compete for a cash sum of $4.56million (£3.65million) in a series of games inspired by the show – without the violent stakes.When it was announced, many were quick to highlight that a Squid Game reality show goes against the point of the series – which, as Dong-hyuk has previously described, is a “fable about modern capitalist society”.Speaking backstage at the Emmys on Monday (September 12) about the reality series (via Variety), Dong-hyuk said he’d met with the creators and hoped “that they will be carrying on my vision and intention as much as possible”.“I think that even though our show does carry quite a heavy message – and I know that there are some concerns of taking that message and creating it into a reality show with a cash prize,” Dong-hyuk said.“However, I feel like when you take things too seriously, that’s really not the best way to go for the entertainment industry. It doesn’t really set a great precedent.”He added: “I would say that reproductions of such efforts are going to bring new meaning to the industry, and I hope that this is going to be a great new direction for the industry overall.”Squid Game: The Challenge is a 10-episode series co-produced between Studio Lambert (The Circle) and The Garden, part of ITV Studios, and will be filmed in the UK.
