“Oldboy” is the middle chapter of what is known as Park’s Vengeance Trilogy, which also includes “Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance” (2002) and “Lady Vengeance” (2005).
NEON’s Jeff Deutchman negotiated the deal with Thierry Wase-Bailey at Celsius. Park Chan-wook’s next film “Decision to Leave” made its debut at Cannes and will also play TIFF next month, and it was also named South Korea’s official submission to the 2023 Oscar race. MUBI acquired the film for release later this year.

He’s gay, loves the Cardinals, his bar mitzvah tutor is a stoner and his soap opera-fueled imagination makes him both the life of the party and the source of endless drama. The series will follow young Cohen’s journey not fitting into any one box and figuring out how to build his own. Cohen published his memoir in 2012 via Macmillan Publishers’ St. Martin’s Press. He is best known for hosting Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” and executive producing the “Real Housewives” franchise for the network.

It will mark the first time Park’s film plays on the big screen since its initial release on Nov. 21, 2003. Neon has not specified the exact date that “Oldboy” will return to the big screen. “Oldboy,” which Oark co-wrote with Hwang Jo-yun and Lim Joon-hyung, won the Grand Prix at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, led by jury president Quentin Tarantino. The acclaimed film stars Choi Min-sik as Oh Dae-Su, a man who was kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years. After he’s released, he has five days to find his captor.
