The 2024 Lovers & Friends Festival has sadly been cancelled mere hours before it was supposed to commence.

Horowitz Senior Music Writer Less than 15 hours before it was scheduled to begin, Lovers & Friends Festival 2024 has been canceled due to “dangerous weather,” said event organizers in a post to their website. The one-day festival, which was supposed to begin at noon on Saturday (May 4) in Las Vegas, was shaping up to be a millennial mixtape dream come true with headlining sets from Usher, Backstreet Boys, Janet Jackson and Alicia Keys.

Nas is also set to introduce a screening of the hip hop drama Beat Street in its 40th anniversary.Tribeca will also feature a reunion to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Sopranos, seeing members of its cast and crew reunite for the conversation.A new documentary about the acclaimed crime drama series, titled Wise Guy: David Chase And The Sopranos, will premiere at the festival.In other news, Nas recently announced details of a new UK and European tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his iconic album ‘Illmatic’.The rapper will kick off the European leg of the tour in Helsinki on October 22, wrapping up at the Stadthalle Offenbach in Germany on November 8.He will then tour the UK, starting with a slot at O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on November 10, before stopping at Edinburgh and Wolverhampton.

The Tribeca Festival has unveiled its reunions, retrospectives and talks series for the 23rd edition unspooling in June including a Storyteller Series with Judd Apatow, Andy Cohen, Kieran Culkin, Kerry Washington, Laverne Cox, Jon Batiste, and Michael Stipe.

The new song, “I Had Some Help,” is a drinking-buddies anthem and includes the key lyrics “I had some help / It ain’t like I can make this kind of mess all by myself / Don’t act like you ain’t help me pull that bottle off the shelf / Been deep in every weekend, if you couldn’t tell / They say teamwork makes the dream work / Hell, I had some help.” No official announcements have been made about the single, much less a release date.
