A woman who uses an XL bully as an assistance dog will likely lose him under new laws - as she lives in a caravan.
Josie Shanaham, 27, who has bipolar and anxiety, says her life was transformed by getting Mars when she was 25. The animal is classed as an 'auxiliary aid' and has the same rights as a guide dog.
She fears her home will not meet strict new guidelines being brought in around ownership of the breed. The Government has said that from December 31 owners must keep XL bully dogs on a lead and muzzled when in public, and in a secure place when at home.

But Josie is worried her caravan will fall foul of the new laws around storage - and she'll have to lose her beloved dog.
Josie, from Woodbury, Devon, said: "His presence and effect on my mental health opened up our lives and let us out of the cage. My mum’s able to work again, and I’m able to go out and go to college by myself - which I could never have done before Mars."
The Government is bringing in new laws around XL bullys after a spate of deadly attacks. Guidelines say that owners who wish to keep their dogs will have until 31 January 2024 to register them.
From then it will be illegal to own the breed unless it is registered on the Index of Exempted dogs. And people will be forced to comply with strict requirements, including a £92.40 exemption assessment.
If you pass you must ensure the dog is microchipped, kept on a lead and muzzled in public, and it must also be kept in a secure place so it cannot escape.
