Geordie Shore star Sophie Kasaei has opened up about how she nearly lost her life due to complications of a Brazilian Bum Lift. The reality TV star appeared on the Chloe vs The World podcast, with Love Island star Chloe Burrows, where she urged others to be more cautious about the risky procedure. A Brazilian Bum Lift (BBL) sees fat removed from one part of the body and injected into the buttocks, but it has a worrying mortality rate, with between one in 2,351 to one in 6,241 people losing their life during the procedure.
Sophie, 33, told how she travelled to Turkey with her co-star Chloe Ferry to undergo the surgery. Recalling how the experience was 'scary' from the moment she arrived at the hospital, she said: "It was so bad from the minute we got there. I remember they gave us a tablet, I was like, I feel off it.
I feel really f***ed. " It was scary.. get on the bed, and then I just remember counting down, and that was that." Sophie went on to recall how it was a 'bloodbath' as she and Chloe came round from their surgery, moaning in pain.
She added: "Chloe was like, this is horrible, she was like, f*** , I'm in pain, I was like, I'm in pain. "The woman came in to change our dressings, and it was a bloodbath... it stunk because of all the fluid.
I just knew something wasn't right." About a month later, Sophie went to the hospital after falling ill during a trip to Mexico. She explained: "I started feeling really unwell. I was getting dizzy and faint.
