Following the global success of her show Nanette and it’s follow up Douglas, Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby announced that she has signed a multi-title deal with Netflix. Gadsby’s announcement came almost a year after the comedian slammed Netflix over its handling of the controversy surrounding comedian Dave Chappelle’s transphobic comments. Gadsby revealed that Netflix had agreed to work with her on a special that would feature genderqueer comics from across the world. Hannah Gadsby.Gadsby had kicked off her ‘Body of Work’ tour in the US in April 2022. This year, the convention returns to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from Oct. 6-9 with a stacked lineup of panels, exhibitions and exclusive VIP experiences.  Similar to last year’s hybrid format, attendees have the choice of purchasing tickets at $22.75 a piece for digital access to the event’s in-person programming. Panels in major convention halls will be streamed over live video, while audio streams will be available for smaller rooms.

Gene Maddaus Senior Media Writer Director Paul Haggis is scheduled to face a civil trial in New York next month on an accusation that he raped publicist Haleigh Breest after a film premiere in 2013. The trial will come nearly five years after the suit was filed, and just a couple of months after an Italian court dismissed a similar accusation against the director. Breest’s lawyers are now seeking information about the Italian case, which they may seek to introduce at the New York trial. In a motion filed on Tuesday, they asked Judge Sabrina Kraus to order Haggis’ lawyers to turn over records related to the case.
