An immersive music trail through Salford will feature the chance to see and hear from the likes of Bez, John Cooper Clarke, Peter Hook, and Mike Sweeney.
Dubbed Salford’s first ever interactive trail, Echo Salford is an augmented reality (AR) experience that takes users on a venture across the places and spaces of the borough’s iconic musical and cultural history.
Starting at MediaCity before then taking in the sites of Salford Lads Club, Islington Mill, Maxwell Hall and the Kings Arms, the visual and audio trail will look at more than 100 years of history guided by a host of famous names.

Local and national treasures including Maxine Peake, Cheddar Gorgeous, Miss Krystal, Priya Matharu, and Mark Radcliffe will be on hand to provide commentary. Users will also be able to submit their own poem in the style of the wondrous John Cooper Clarke at The Lowry, who will then personally review and personally award prizes to.
Accessed via the Echo Salford app, the trail will allow users to launch an AR experience at each location as they view never-before-seen images and access musical content and memorabilia.
