Having become parents to their eldest son RZA Athelston Mayers back in May 2022, the superstar pair have since reportedly welcomed a second son to their brood - and his name is very unique. With A$AP Rocky’s real name being Rakim Athelaston Mayers, it seems as though the pair have kept up the ‘R’ name theme for their growing family.

Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, who previously formed the songwriting duo The Neptunes, are currently in a legal dispute over the group’s name.The lawsuit comes as Hugo accused Williams of “fraudulently” seeking sole control over the trademarks without consulting him.The Neptunes rose to prominence in the early 2000s, after both Williams and Hugo were friends in their childhood. They produced a run of hit tracks at the turn of the century including Gwen Stefani’s ‘Hollaback Girl’, Snoop Dogg’s ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’, Justin Timberlake’s ‘Rock Your Body’ and Nelly’s ‘Hot in Herre’.They reached the peak of their success before Williams went on to become a solo musician, and they were inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 2022.However, the two have run into legal action following Hugo filing a lawsuit against his songwriting partner last week at a federal tribunal – accusing Williams of attempting to unilaterally register trademarks for the Neptunes name.

Michel Gondry hasn’t worked with a Hollywood studio since the 2011 comedy “The Green Hornet.” But he’ll do so for his follow-up to last year’s “The Book Of Solutions” for what’s arguably the most peculiar project in his filmography. Deadline reports that Gondry heads to Universal to direct an untitled coming-of-age musical set in 1977 Virginia Beach.

Pharrell has announced his forthcoming biopic Piece By Piece, which will be made out of Lego.The musician took to social media to share the news, revealing that the film will land in theatres on October 11, 2024. “Who would’ve thought that playing with Legos as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life,” he wrote.

Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri was feted at the Annecy International Film Festival Wednesday morning with a “Golden Ticket” lifetime accreditation in a surprise session featuring Grammy-winning musician and Louis Vuitton designer Pharrell Williams.

Pharrell’s Something In The Water festival had its third day cancelled on Sunday (April 30) due to bad weather conditions.The festival held its 2023 edition in Virginia Beach this past weekend, with headline sets from Mumford & Sons among others.After the first two days of the event were delayed due to rain, Sunday’s proceedings – which were set to include Grace Jones, Clipse, 100 Gecs and more – were then postponed.The festival announced that 33 per cent refunds of the original ticket price will be given to fans, writing online: “We are disappointed to share that under the advisement of the city of Virginia Beach and the local authorities we have to cancel day three of SOMETHING IN THE WATER due to significant impacts to the festival site caused by severe weather, as well as the current and forecasted storms approaching and tornado warning.“We did not make this decision easily but everyone’s safety is our top priority.”A post shared by SOMETHING IN THE WATER (@somethinginthewater)In his own statement, Pharrell promised that dates will shift for the 2024 edition to avoid a repeat scenario.He wrote: “Dearest Virginia, we are the best. Aminé and Kaytranada have officially debuted their collaborative project Kaytraminé, joining forces with Pharrell Williams for a slinky and colourful track titled ‘4EVA’.The project was first teased earlier this week, but has been in the works for nearly a decade; the pair first linked up in 2014 after Aminé released a bootleg remix of Kaytranada’s song ‘Not At All’. The latter DJ then offered to make Aminé some of his own beats, leading to the pair collaborating on three songs for Aminé’s 2015 mixtape ‘Calling Brio’.A music video for ‘4EVA’, directed by Jack Begert, is slated to drop in the coming hours.
