A mum has warned of the dangers of vaping after a few drags on an electronic cigarette left her teenage son fighting for his life.
Spencer Smith said he 'felt like he was going to die' as he collapsed to the floor after inhaling the vape. He did not know what the contents were and believed it was just a normal electronic cigarette, YorkshireLive reports.
His body started convulsing and he was rushed to A&E in an ambulance in what he described was the 'scariest moment of his life'. His mum Suzanne Smith said the few drags on the vape 'very nearly' killed her son, who was just 16 at the time. Tests found the vape was actually laced with spice and benzodiazepines.

Suzanne has now spoken out about the terrifying ordeal and how it has impacted the entire family, with hopes that Spencer's story will warn others of the dangers.
She said her son, from Honeywell in Barnsley, was playing football with his friends on a field in Rotherham when he was offered the vape from some older boys. Within minutes, the teen collapsed in the middle of the football pitch as his body started to convulse.
He remembers that his vision went initially and after that his memory is hazy, but he distinctly remembers feeling like he wasn't in his own body. Thankfully, he has since made a full recovery.
At the time of the incident Suzanne shared the story on social media, the post received 9.3k likes, 139 comments and was shared 46k times.
