A Christmas market shopper was left baffled by the eye watering cost of a £57 pick and mix goodie bag she picked up at a stall, the Mirror reports. The gobsmacked mother said she put half of the sweets back but was still charged £26 for the new amount of the normal sized bag.
Christmas markets are notoriously known for being overpriced and the costs only seem to get significantly worse every year. Manchester-based rapper OneDa who was buying the extortionate bag of sweets for her daughter took to TikTok to prove the 'madness' of the Christmas market prices.
OneDa who's real name is Onye Ezeh shows the normal-sized bag of pick and mix being weighed on the scales as she says: "Guys, £26 for these sweets. How much was it before this?"
The Kingdom of Sweets shop assistant at Manchester Christmas markets can than be heard confirming the price of the original heavier bag which would have been £27 extra. OneDa then shows viewers the current cost of her bag at £26.25 and exclaims: "Fifty seven pounds for sweets!
"So I've had to lower it down to £26." Her daughter then jokes: "It was a lot of sweets.
"Yes, because of me." OneDa captioned the shocking video: "Madness! Even £27 is pushing it to be fair."
Other social media users were left equally as stunned with one person commenting: "FIFTY WHATTTTTT LMAOOO with this cost of living crisis???" Another advised: "Walk away, leave them," to which OneDa responded: "I'm going to do that just for fun."
A third remarked: "That's outrageous. The fact that you still paid for it… I understand that you might’ve wanted to get them for the kids."
Another shocked follower said : "B***dy ridiculous, next dentist bill." Many Christmas markets have received backlash for their ridiculous prices this
