A family allege they were forced to throw away over £4,000 worth of furniture, clothes and even a TV as their home was plagued by mould.
Mum-of-two Dilkash Wishyar shared horrifying images of the black damp covering her walls and covering a wardrobe in her two-bed home.
Though the mould in the Walsall property has since been treated by Walsall Housing Group, the mum states that the damp in the property continues to leave the carpets soaking and is 'affecting their health', as reported by Birmingham Live.
She said: "It's everywhere. It is all about damp and mould.
"My little daughter many times, comes into my room after midnight two o'clock, half past one and says 'oh what is happening here, I can't breathe because it smells really bad'.
"I say 'what can I do?' I can't leave the windows open every time because it's cold. I don't know what can I do? It's too much."
Wishyar first noticed the mould in her kitchen back in 2018, but it only began spreading "everywhere" the following year.
"I reported it and one time one staff came to take a picture but he did not come back to me.
"in 2020, I was told I was lucky to have a two bedroom, I don't see why I am lucky because I have two kids and one small bedroom and one not too big, normal bedroom, they say yes you are very lucky, because ten people are in one room in other homes.
She added that she had spent "more than £4,000" on replacing furniture, clothes, shoes, rugs, plates, TV, sofa, bed, wardrobe, drawers.
"I am not having a good job, I'm not working, how am I supposed to every month or two months time, throw out, for example, two months ago, I had to throw out one big three seater sofa and one two seater."
She claims the damp in the property has caused her to suffer health problems
