A mum-of-two has claimed she was violently raped by murderer John Cannan when she was just nine-years-old.
Melanie Gregory, now 51, alleges that the notorious killer pulled her into a disused laundrette in Birmingham in February 1981. Evil Cannan, born in Sutton Coldfield, is currently serving three life sentences after being jailed for the high-profile murder of newlywed Shirley Banks in 1987.

In the same year, he was found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court of raping a pregnant woman in front of her son. Melanie claimed Cannan, then aged 26, came running up behind her, urging her to slow down. She added that the killer spoke to her "like he knew who I was".
The former Osborne Primary School pupil, who has waived her right to anonymity granted to all victims of sexual offences, said: "I remember thinking: 'I don’t know this man'. He asked 'you don’t remember me do you?'"
Melanie described the man who attacked her as having sideburns, bushy eyebrows, "an odd haircut", wearing
