More than 400 new £300,000 homes are being built in Partington, and they’re already selling fast.
The Millbank Lock development from developers Countryside was approved across two separate applications by Trafford council back in January 2021.
The first set of plans were for 151 homes on land off Hall Lane, including a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, with 78 affordable houses and 15 properties for private rent.

The second application was for 298 homes – including 40 affordable properties adjoining the Manchester Ship Canal off Lock Lane and Thirlmere Road.
The application was also for a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Last year, councillors on the town hall’s planning committee voted unanimously to approve the plans, along with associated landscaping and new access roads
Now, the two bed, three-bed and four-bedroom homes have hit the market and five were sold in the first week alone.
The site is right on the banks of the Manchester ship canal and with this development and others in the nearby area, a total of 1,000 homes are coming to Partington over the next few years.
