Missy Elliott will launch her first-ever headlining tour this summer, a 24-city event that will include stops in Los Angeles and Brooklyn.
The tour, titled Out Of This World – The Missy Elliott Experience, kicks off July 4 and runs through August 22. Also on the tour will be Elliott’s collaborator and producing partner Timbaland as well as Busta Rhymes and Ciara.
Elliott, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, said in a statement, “This is an incredible time in my life as I am experiencing so many milestone ‘firsts.’ Being the FIRST female Hip Hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and now going out on my FIRST headline tour. Fans have been asking me to tour forever but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with family! So get ready to be taken OUT OF THIS WORLD with me, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, and Timbaland! We can’t wait to share this experience with the fans!”
Live Nation and Elliott’s manager Mona Scott-Young are producing the tour.
The tour begins July 4 in Vancouver and ends August 22 in Rosemont, Illinois, with stops L.A.’s Crypto Arena (July 11); Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center August 9; and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center (August 12). Other cities on the tour include Boston, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, Oakland, Seattle, Austin, Houston, Tampa, Baltimore, Montreal and Toronto.
